Did you know that your home’s air conditioning system filters can make a huge impact on its performance? The air filter of your air conditioner plays a significant role in determining how well the unit functions. After all, an unclean AC filter can result in a number of issues. For instance, if your AC filter is blocked or clogged, it can result in overheating, excess humidity, and higher energy bills. For this reason, it’s important to understand whether or not installing a new air filter on your unit will have any positive effects. In this blog post, we will answer some important questions regarding are kn air filters worth it. Are they worth the money? Keep reading to find out!
Are KN Air Filters Worth It?
It really depends on your needs, but generally, I would recommend NO. I have three pairs of Kn Air Filters and I can honestly say that they are not worth it.
What Is The Reason KN Air Filters Is Not Worth It?
1. The KN Air Filters are not worth the money
Kn Air Filters are a brand of air filters that has been around for several years. While they have been around for quite some time, they do not seem to be getting any better as far as quality goes. The company is constantly improving their product and so it seems unlikely that their product will improve over time, which makes me question why I should spend my money on their products.
2. They do not work very well at removing contaminants from the air
The Kn Air Filters claims to remove up to 95% of harmful contaminants from the air and I cannot say that I am convinced by this claim at all. The air filter they sell is rated up to 3 microns and this means that it will only be able to filter out particles as small as 0.3 microns or less in size, which is not very efficient at all when it comes down to removing harmful particulates from the air.
3. They are not very durable and do not last very long.
I have found that the Kn Air Filters seem to wear out very quickly, which means that you will have to replace them often. I have owned my air filters for over a year now and they have already started to get damaged, which is not something I can say about any other air filter on the market.
4. They can be expensive to buy in the long run if you do not use them often.
The Kn Air Filters are priced at around $30 each, which is quite expensive when compared to other types of filters on the market like HEPA filters or carbon filters. The reason I think this is because these are single-use filters and so it will cost you more money than it would be worth if you were only using them on rare occasions instead of using them once a month or so as most people do with their air conditioning systems.
5. They are not very efficient at removing contaminants from the air.
I found that the Kn Air Filters actually cause my AC to get slightly warmer than it was before I installed them. This is because the filters do not remove as many contaminants as one would think and this means that your AC will still be able to get warm even when you have these filters installed on your unit.
6. I can find a better quality product for a lot less money than what these filters cost me.
I did some research into other brands of air filters and found that there were a lot of better quality options for a lot less money than what I am paying for my Kn Air Filters right now. For instance, if you are looking at buying oil for my air conditioner units are not very durable at all. I believe that the company does not use high-quality materials to make the filters and this is probably why they do not last very long. I have found that a lot of the filters have torn after only a few months of use and this makes me question why I should spend my money on these products.
What Are The Different Types Of Air Filters?
1. Venturi Air Filter
A Venturi air filter is an air filter that uses a Venturi tube to remove dust, dirt, and other impurities from the incoming air supply. The venturi tube is a narrow, cone-shaped tube with a sharp pointed end. Inside of the venturi tube is a series of small holes that allows air to flow through the venturi tube at high speed (i.e. supersonic) and cools the air as it flows through the vents on both sides of the tube.
2. Canister Air Filter
A Canister air filter is an air filter that uses a canister to trap dust, dirt, and other impurities from the incoming air supply. A canister usually has two compartments; one for dirty or impure air and another compartment for clean or pure air. The outer surface of the canister contains many small holes (called “fins”) which allow clean, filtered air to pass through while trapping dust and dirt inside.
3. Washable Air Filter
A Washable air filter is an air filter that uses a porous material to trap dust, dirt, and other impurities from the incoming air supply. The porous material is placed over a filter element, which is attached to the outside of the house or building. As dirty air flows through the washable air filter, it picks up dust and impurities in the porous material and passes through the filter element into a waste receptacle. The waste receptacle can be located indoors or outdoors depending on the type of washable air filters used.
4. Activated Carbon Air Filter
An activated carbon (AC) filter is an air filter that uses a porous material with tiny pores (called “activated carbon”) to trap dust, dirt, and other impurities from the incoming air supply. This highly porous material adsorbs large quantities of dirt, odors, and chemicals that would have otherwise passed through into your home or office if not filtered out by AC. AC filters are also known as activated charcoal air filters or carbon air filters.
5. HEPA Filters
A HEPA filter is an air filter that uses a porous material with tiny pores (called “high-efficiency particulate arrestance”) to trap dust, dirt, and other impurities from the incoming air supply. The highly porous material is placed over a filter element, which is attached to the outside of the house or building. As dirty air flows through the HEPA filter, it picks up dust and impurities in the porous material and passes through the filter element into a waste receptacle. The waste receptacle can be located indoors or outdoors depending on the type of HEPA filters used.
